Landscape design is in progress for a new park area surrounding a sculpture honoring Harriet Wilson, a pre-Civil War black author from Milford.
Also this year, Amherst's beautiful library is being given an outdoor reading garden complete with fountain, terrace and plantings designed by North Land Design, funded and planted by the Amherst Gardeners.
In 2005, the historic Brick School in Amherst received a new brick walkway and plantings.
